Two photos we took on the same Android phone, months apart, neither of them edited. A report gives each one two grades: is it genuine, and what does it give away?
Farmland in Sabah: Authenticity A, Exposure C.
The State Library of Victoria: Authenticity A, Exposure D.
What's different
- Nothing on authenticity. Both are straight off the phone, and both got an A with high confidence.
- Both give away where they were taken. Each carries the phone's location.
- One gives away more. The report also found writing in the library photo, on its banners.

What the report said: A and C, then A and D. As a single letter, the library's D could be read as doubt about whether the photo is genuine. With two grades, its Authenticity stays A.
